This means that each NFT is completely different from any other, making them perfect for representing unique items like works of art, collectibles, or even entire ecosystems. However, the creation of NFTs requires a lot of energy and creates a lot of waste. For example, to create just one NFT requires the burning of hundreds of kilowatt-hours of electricity. And since each NFT is unique, it can't be recycled or reused like most other digital assets. So this massive amount of electricity is being used just to create frivolous digital collectibles that will likely never be used again!
